In a digital world, something as simple as a stop sign is not so simple.

The personal injury lawyers deal with accidents daily. Serious injuries, deaths, loss of limbs, brain damage, cuts, bruises, broken bones and long hospital stays are all preceded by the proverbial accident. The insurance industry and those with an axe to grind promote all sorts of labels to make the public have an unhealthy distaste for what we do. “Ambulance chaser” comes first to mind; we even have a joke for that one. “I hate when people say that, because I always arrive before the ambulance.”

What people can’t fully appreciate is our tolerance for being called slanderous names comes not from the joy of being a capitalist and like farmers making money from making something from very little. No, our feelings have nothing to do with what we do and how we do it. We simply like helping people who need help after an accident. Fact of the matter is you can easily put us out of business by when sitting behind the wheel simply avoiding distractions. If you don’t have an accident I’ll have nothing to do and will then have to learn how to plant a straight row of corn. So put the cell phone away.
