Every week I pick a day and blog about the fatality and the injury reports in Iowa. The focus is usually I-35 and I-80. Luckily today there are none on I-35. The rest are here for you to learn from. We can all do that. This week we have six fatality reports on the ISP website. The accident locations cover Appanoose, Jasper again, Scott, Boone, Adair and Cerro Gordo Counties. The first is a single vehicle rollover that killed the driver. Mary English - 56
The second accident was on I-80 and involved two vehicles. The one slid onto the median and then was struck by a semi-truck that had slid as well. The deceased appears to have been a passenger from Sudan. He was 55-years-old. [Mahdy and Suad Adam along with Yasim Ali. They have interesting names. It looks like the Nissan slammed into the semi-truck after the semi driver lost control and ended up disabled and on the median.
The third accident is somewhat strange in that the victim is described as lying in the roadway. He was a 58-year-old man. [Brent H. Christie, 58]
The fourth collision is between two vehicles, a Ford F-150 and a 2005 Volvo semi-tractor-trailer on I-80. It appears there are two injured and two fatal's. The two fatalities have the same last name and may be related. The preliminary report doesn't say which truck they were in. We'll have to await the full report. Hopefully there will be more detail for those involved. Actually the summary does say the two in the pickup truck died after sliding into the semi heading in the opposite direction. [Christopher Malone, 37; Richard Gould, 55; Connie Gould, 52; Tara Malone, 20]
The next accident is again in Boone, we covered a fatal accident last week. This one is again on Mamie Eisenhower. It involves three vehicles when one crossed the center line. In this collision a 52-year-old man died. All of these accidents leading to fatalities involve a loss of control. [Kevin Lee Powell, 52; Ramona Prather, 49; Kimberly Cunningham, 35.]
The last report, the one full report is a single car accident involving a rollover that killed the driver. [Kenneth Gordon, 50]

If you or an interested person are in a collision and you would like the crash analyzed you'll need to contact Attorney Lombardi. This may or may not result in an attorney-client relationship and simply asking for a review does not in and of itself create such a relationship. If you ask and Mr. Lombardi thinks you have a case he will say so and provide an agreement for representation that then creates an attorney-client relationship. The bottom line is that Mr. Lombardi has to agree to take you on as a client; the first step of course is asking him. You've got two ways: telephone 515-222-1110 or email sent to sdlombardi@aol.com.
