Iowa Police Track Wanted Man Across Three Counties

Des Moines Police attempted to pull over a man for a traffic stop in Des Moines on Thursday, March 9th.  He was suspected to be wanted on a Felony Probation Violation warrant.  The man did not stop but instead began a high-speed chase on Park Avenue in Des Moines at 11:00 p.m.  The driver continued into downtown Des Moines, speeding at 70 mph down several streets in the wrong direction.  The chase then led to I-235 and Iowa State Patrol took over the pursuit.  The chase lasted 50 miles, into Guthrie County.  The driver was the suspected wanted man that police were looking for when they began the attempted traffic stop.  No injuries or fatalities occurred, but the driver is facing several new charges including OWI, Eluding, Speeding, Failure to use Headlights, Felon in Possession of a Weapon and Littering.
