Iowa State Patrol was working to clean up a car accident on I-80 when another accident occurred involving two semi-trucks and a car on Tuesday July 30. Traffic was stopped in the westbound lanes for the clean-up crews to resolve the initial accident when a semi-truck coming upon the scene crashed into a car and then struck the fuel tank of a second semi-truck. An explosion ensued, engulfing the trucks. No fatalities occurred, but the driver of the car, her passengers, and the driver of one of the trucks were treated for minor injuries.
