Even at-fault drivers can get workers’ compensation benefits

Here is an accident where a pickup truck driver drove into the rear of a semi-truck. While I have no way of knowing anything about this accident, other than what I read, it demonstrates this point with a fact pattern we are looking for.
So let's assume the pickup truck driver was working and he runs into the rear of the semi-truck in front of him. You're first reaction is that to assume he was somehow at fault, and for this example we will assume that's correct. But it might not be true. If true even though he may be at fault, his wife would if in Iowa be entitled to receive life benefits. That's the way the law works. Fault has little to do with it. Now in this case the statement is reported to indicate alcohol use by the driver. If true in Iowa that would take him out of being eligible for benefits unless the work involves alcohol and the employer encourages or allows it. Alcohol Suspected in Pickup, Semi Truck Crash

After a worker is injured is when they need the support of their employer the most. But injured workers aren't given a level playing field. The company doctor often times is not helping them and the case manager isn't either. The worker is left alone to fend for themselves and to make mistakes that result in lower benefits or fewer weeks of benefits. Some are sent back to work too soon. There is only one person on your side and that understands this system. Can I file a lawsuit regarding racial discrimination? Two days ago an assistant manager at my workplace made a comment about my race saying to me hey Hispanic guy no I mean hey you (profane word) Mexican! I guess he was trying to joke with me when I have never made any type of racial remark to him periodically. Is it possible to file for a lawsuit about this if I haven't told management yet or recorded the time it took place or exact words there was a coworker that witnessed the altercation.

Can my 6 year old get compensation for a hotel injury? We stayed at a hotel. My son got shocked and burned on his fingertip from a table lamp on/off switch. The hotel said the fuse box had a burn out. So that might have caused it. The insurance company offered $500. Should I take it? Or can I get more?
