A recent E. coli outbreka began with chicken salad at Costco stores across the country. Now, reports show that sandwiches from Starbucks are also contaminated, but no illnesses have been reported. The sandwiches at issue were a new holiday turkey panini that contained a stuffing with celery. It was the celery in the Costco chicken salad that was contaminated as well. The celery has now been linked to Taylor Farms Pacific, Inc. After this discovery, Starbucks has pulled all sandwiches from stores across the west coast that potentially contained contaminated ingredients. Chipotle restaurants have also experienced a recent E. coli outbreak, but there has not been a link to any particular source as of yet, and may be unrelated to the celery contamination at Costo and Starbucks.
