September 24, 2010 - Warren County, Iowa - This is a two-vehicle accident on US 65 and G016 or Scotch Ridge Road in Warren County. The time of the collision is reported to be 4:15 p.m. One of the drivers is 80-years-old and the other is 32. According the police report the elderly driver after stopping for the stop sign pulled out into the path of the younger driver. She died in the ensuing collision. It does not appear as though charges were filed against the younger driver. This is a failure to yield case and may represent one of those cases where the older driver needed to stop driving. Having a mother that is over 80 I know the feeling. What her children fear is that her independence is one day going to get her killed.
