Crossing the center line is probably due to texting

In this one the driver comes across the center line and hits another car head-on sending both the passengers to the hospital. The not-at-fault car had Iowa people from Mt. Vernon in it. The other was an 21-year-old driver from Genoa. Frances Amundson and her 15-year-old passenger were freed using the Jaws of Life and taken to Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse. This is a Highway 35 venue.

In Iowa there was another pedestrian fatality in Montrose, Iowa. About 2 miles south of Montrose on Highway 61/218 in Lee County is the accident's location. The report is of a driver attempting to pass a semi-truck and not being able to see a pedestrian. Not sure why a pedestrian would be out on Highway 218, but there are locations where that makes sense, especially in southern Iowa. The pedestrian is identified as John Keith Flemming, 27 or Fort Madison.

Mary Benke, 60 from Cascade is reported to have been injured after an accident on what is described as a slushy roadway. This one is up near Dubuque. She was driving south on US 151 near Military Road at about 5:00 pm Monday when a semi attempted to pass which caused her to lose control and strike the semi-truck. Bummer...

In another accident on I-380 the vehicle was left dangling over the overpass. There is a photo and video of this one and it's pretty interesting to see. The location is over by Hiawatha. Luckily no one was hurt. They don't really say who was involved. This is an intersection collision while entering the highway. One driver waved another through, being courteous, but someone else wasn't so engaging and instead plowed right into them. Get a clue people, slow down and you'll still get there.

In an accident on I-35 near New Braunfels, two elderly women had to be airlifted to a San Antonio hospital after a traffic accident on I-35. The driver was cut off by another car, she then overcorrected and struck the concrete barrier. Bad news for sure.

Here is one about adding lights where three people died in a car accident on Highway 3. The Le Mars City Council is considering corrective action. They are considering lowering the speed limit, adding lights and or sidewalks. A great deal of sadness follows death by car accident. And trust me when I say that justice will not make you whole.
