Mills County, Iowa - We have two Iowa drivers, one from Elliott and the other from Hastings. Who appears to be the at-fault driver is 55 and the other 80. When I read the Iowa State Trooper’s (ISP) accident description, I’m left wondering why the one crossed the center line. Was it driving under the influence, distracted driving (texting) or something else? The accident occurred on November 20, 2016 at 16:50 which is 4:50 in the afternoon. We have had no snow and little rain and so I can’t think weather or darkness had anything to do with causing it. I read just about every accident report I find. It’s concerning just how many accidents are caused by someone crossing the center line. I myself, drive differently. I can’t help it. In this case we have Alice Campbell deceased and two others injured. (Patti Jipsen and Barbara Irwin who is from Charleston, Illinois.) This will not be a good holiday season for these three families. And still I am left to wonder, why?
