Bus, students boarding, distracted drivers - duty to yield at school bus

Full Reports - A crash occurred in Worth County on May 10, 2011 - This is a school bus crossing case with the yellow bus' lights flashing and stop sign extended, but either not seen or ignored. I've been waiting for more of these because of distracted driving caused by cell phones. The injured person that died was a pedestrian going to get on the bus. The pedestrian was a 7-year-old female. She was fatally injured. Bad news for everyone. UNIT 1 WAS TRAVELLING SOUTHBOUND WHEN IT FAILED TO STOP FOR THE FLASHING LIGHTS AND EXTENDED STOP SIGN OF A SCHOOL BUS. UNIT 1 STRUCK A PEDESTRIAN WHO WAS ENTERING THE ROADWAY TO BOARD THE SCHOOL BUS, AND CONTINUED SOUTHBOUND WITHOUT STOPPING. PEDESTRIAN CAME TO REST IN WEST DITCH OF ROAD.
