In this crash the driver crossed over the center line, went off the hard surface, into the ditch where he lost control and rolled several times. I have to wonder if there wasn’t a deer involved. Accident time is 1827 or 6:27 pm.

The people on the motorcycle are so exposed. Just this weekend there was a head-on crash in Washington where the report has a pickup truck coming across the center line and striking a motorcycle head-on; two people were killed. And then there is this case, Bradley Stephen of Monticello. Then James Mills of Northwood died in a crash in Worth County. And there is somewhat of a sketchy report of a man from Durango, Iowa that died from the injuries received in a crash on Wednesday on the Northwest Arterial near Kennedy Road. He’s 32-year-old Matthew Kelley. This story is also covered by Channel 2, KGAN in Dubuque. The KGAN story has the driver losing control of the bike. That may be true, but the more important question is why. Why did he lose control? What made the driver react to lose control? Figure that out and you have the real reason, not just one that implies fault on the part of the motorcycle driver.
