In this ATV accident a young boy, 9, from Dike, Iowa is described as being on 110th Street, about 5 miles southeast of New Hartford, when he lost control, crashed and was instantly killed. The young lad is reported by Eastern Iowa News as Tate Johnson. In 30 years of practicing personal injury litigation and insurance claims work I've seen far too many young drivers killed or seriously injured while driving or riding on ATV's. They are dangerous and that raises the need for parents to closely supervise young riders of ATVs. Doing otherwise can increase the likelihood of serious injury and death. Serious injury includes brain damage, de-gloving injuries, broken legs, broken arms, broken necks and broken backs. Be smart and watch your kid while controlling speed and terrain.

You can get further information about safety issues and ATV's at ATVSafety.gov. And if you think they aren't dangerous then ask yourself why the government has a safety website dedicated to ATV's.

This type of a claim is covered under the ATV owner's home policy.

The DNR regulates ATVs.

He's too young to go. My sincerest condolences to his family. It won't be easy but I'm hoping they'd be able to move on past this tragedy.

One of our best things we want is to love and help our family. There are many things we might do to accomplish that. Something happened to my that I didn’t think about helping the family with. I started riding a quad in the mountain with a friend. Eventually, I got many in the family to ride quads.
